About us

Host in Bad Neuenahr since 1907

Our house looks back on a long and eventful history that began over a century ago. Our building was built in 1870 as one of the first houses on Telegrafenstraße and initially served as a residential building. As early as 1907, it was converted into the Haus Kelter guesthouse, laying the foundations for our tradition of hospitality.

From 1960 to 1964, the guesthouse was transformed into a comfortable garni hotel under the management of the Ernsing family. It is noteworthy that our hotel was the first hotel in Bad Neuenahr to have a lift - a novelty and an expression of the comfort we wanted to offer our guests.

The following decades were characterised by the Schipler family, who ran the hotel with full and half board from 1976 to 2005. During this time, we gained a reputation for first-class hospitality and personalised service.

In 2005, the daughter and her husband, the Durben family, took over the Garni Hotel and led it into a new era. Two years later, in 2007, we expanded our offer with a modern penthouse holiday flat, which met the demands of our guests for contemporary comfort.

One major event was the flood of the century in the Ahr valley in 2021, which severely damaged our house. Despite this setback, we immediately began planning the reconstruction. From 2021 to May 2024, the hotel was completely converted into modern holiday flats. Stylish and comfortable accommodation was created on an area of 820 m², leaving nothing to be desired.

In June 2024, we look forward to reopening as Ahrpartments and welcoming our guests in a modern yet traditional atmosphere. Our history is characterised by change and consistency - and we are proud to continue this tradition.
