Our house looks back on a long and eventful history – shaped by change and continuity. We are proud to carry this tradition forward.
Our story
1870
Our building is one of the first houses on Telegrafenstraße and is initially used as a family home.
1907
First conversion into the Pension Haus Kelter – the foundation of our hospitality.
1960–1964
Under the Ernsing family the guesthouse becomes a comfortable bed-and-breakfast hotel – the first hotel in Bad Neuenahr with a lift.
1976–2005
The Schipler family runs the hotel with full and half board and builds its reputation for first-class hospitality and personal service.
2005
Their daughter and her husband – the Durben family – take over the hotel and lead it into a new era.
2007
The penthouse becomes our first modern holiday apartment.
2021
The once-in-a-century flood in the Ahr valley severely damages our house. Planning for the reconstruction begins that same year.
2021–2024
Complete conversion from hotel to modern holiday flats: 820 m² of stylish, comfortable accommodation.
June 2024
Reopening as Ahrpartments – modern, yet mindful of tradition.
